A great deal of attention is always paid to speaking. From meetings to interviews, to our personal lives, speaking is considered an essential part of it all. If you want to advance your career, get the job you desire, have great friends, communication skills, especially speaking, are emphasized. But, active, attentive listening is an equally important personality trait. Here you will find some ways how you can get good at it.

When participating in board meetings, classroom seminars, and other information-heavy discussions, taking notes is vital. This ability is also helpful when completing the CELPIP Listening Test. On the official exam, if you wish to take notes while listening to the passages, you will be provided with a pen and notepaper. Whether you take notes or not is your preference. All the notes will be taken at the end of the official exam, but you won't be graded on your notes.

The following tips can enhance your Listening Test Scores:

• Always Practice taking notes, even you are not able to note them down well. Listen again; revise your notes as many times you can. Remember, you can't replay in the real CELPIP Test.
• Try to practice in a disturbing environment, and it will help you focus in an unpleasant atmosphere. Rumours say that the CELPIP test is conducting in a noisy room, but it is not true; however, this tip also helps you in all the other test modules. 
• Relax while listening; If you cannot know a phrase, expression, or sentence, continue listening and remain focused on what you hear.
• Practice monitoring and managing your time. Keep an eye on the timer during your practice test and try to pace yourself, so you have enough time to answer all the questions.
• Practicing on mock tests: These will give you a clear idea of your current score level, from our free online practice tests to our additional paid mock tests, which will help you to concentrate on areas that you need to progress on. You will also get familiar with the CELPIP test structure and with the computer if you are not computer savvy.
• Review from a mentor: Reviewing from a qualified, trained teacher can help you clear the hurdle you are stuck on. A mentor can concentrate on areas you need to enhance.
