Speaking Tips of Task 1: Giving Advice
In this Speaking task 1 of the Celpip test, you need to advise someone close to you and in any situation where he or she has to decide. There may be a variety of situations like, for example, your friend wants to go somewhere, or purchase something, or choose to do something, or looking for a career option, or opting for a higher study, or make a decision and so on. In this situation, you need to help your friend with his/her task by giving your advice with your wisdom and experience. By focusing on the task, think about what you want to say and imagine what you would advise your friend if it happened in real life. Try to elaborate it with real-life examples.
In this task, three relevant advice would increase your score.
Remember that you have to speak 90 seconds, and you have only 30 seconds of preparation time.
I advise concentrating on the task. Think about what you want to suggest, and consider what your friend would recommend if it happened in real life.
Read the instructions thoroughly to make sure that you understand the situation. You should consider who you are talking to and try to come up with a few different pieces of advice that would help or her.
Your advice must be supported by reasons and examples; otherwise, you may lose some marks on task fulfilment.
Beginning:
Firstly, you have to speak directly to someone, so think up a name. For example, say, "Hi, Martha!".
Hey John/Susan, I've heard that you ….., I have a few suggestions for you.
Congratulations Mark for getting promotion........, high positions come with great responsibilities.

{Sometimes it is better to use questioning sentences in Celpip Test}

First of all, try … Secondly, you can … Next/Additionally, it might be useful for you to…
Start with ...... then ......... afterwards, you could do ......
At closing, try to use a closing sentence:

I'm sure you will come up with your decision.
I hope I was able to help.
Good luck! I know whatever you will choose would be better for you.
